Finding the Main Post for the Weekmidnight by Made by Made from the Noun Project

Every Monday, usually around midnight, I will post details on this site about the work for the week. There are several ways to get notification when these posts go live, all described in the section below on Keeping Up with the Website.

Once you get notification that new content is available, come to this site to find instructions on the activities for the week. You will find an outline of specific things you need to write or do for the course and a reminder of upcoming due dates. Additionally, there will be posts with tips, advice, and discussion prompts throughout the week.

Since this site is a WordPress blog, the posts on the homepage appear in reverse chronological order. The newest post is at the top of the page, with the older posts at the bottom. You may need to scroll down to find the post you need.

You can also use the All Posts by Title link in the menu bar at the top of the page to find the post for a specific day.

Finding the Daily Discussion Posts

The Daily Discussion Posts are published around midnight, Tuesday through Saturday. Notification options for these posts are also described in the section below on Keeping Up with the Website.

Once you get notification that one of these posts is available, come to this site to read the information, which typically applies to a project in the course. Reading these posts and following their advice will help improve your major projects. If you are working towards a grade higher than a B in the course, you can leave a comment on these posts as well.

As noted above, these posts appear on the homepage in reverse chronological order. The newest post is at the top of the page, with the older posts at the bottom.

You can also use the By Category link in the menu bar at the top of the page to find a specific Discussion Post.

Keeping Up with the Website

You can find notifications for each new post on the website (both the main post for the week and the Daily Discussion Posts) in a variety of places. You can use any or all of the following ways to find out when new information is posted on the course website:

  • Check the Announcements in Canvas for a link to every post. If you like text message or email notifications, you can change your notification settings in Canvas so that Announcements are sent to you as a text message.
  • Follow the Twitter account @HokieTengrrl. You can also see @HokieTengrrl Tweets in the right sidebar throughout the course website, so even if you don’t use Twitter, you can check the sidebar to see what has been added recently.
  • Find status updates for every post in the course Facebook Group. These updates will show in your Newsfeed if you are a member of the group.
  • Use the “Subscribe Via Email” option in the the course website sidebar, which will send you an email message whenever I add a new post to the course website. The sign-up process is simple: Add your email, and click subscribe. You’ll have to confirm your subscription. That’s it. The email messages will have information on how to unsubscribe if you decide you want to.
